Knauf Tanzania was formed with the support of Knauf Turkey in 2015 as a representative office. A rapidly growing population had to be met with housing, commercial, educational facilities, medical centers and hospitals. Traditional construction methods had become slow, labor intensive and impractical in many instances. It was time to look towards construction. Expanding its reach into a vital and rapidly growing market, Knauf Tanzania has established a regional head office in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, with a busy branch office in Nairobi, Kenya. Both offices are equipped with skilled, experienced staff who are ideally positioned to develop the brand and its superior products and systems throughout the area. An established name for gypsum products and accessories within the building industry, Knauf is the brand of choice for contractors, engineers, and project developers. Working first with distribution, supported by technical assistance for the distributors, consultants and contractors, Knauf Tanzania is growing quickly. The company has quickly become known not just as a supplier of high quality German products but also as a solution provider, with the knowledge and expertise to guide its customers.
With an investment of over 40 million euros Knauf Tanzania expanded a state of the art facility for the production of gypsum board, plaster products and metal profiles. Keeping abreast of steadily increasing demand for high quality products, systems and building solutions, Knauf Tanzania maintains its mission to supply to local market with Tanzanian products manufactured to European standards with competitive pricing. Already a leading supplier in drywall systems, Knauf Tanzania is on track to further expand its reach and market share within the industry. Knauf Tanzania has started exporting to neighboring countries of Congo, Malawi and Rwanda. A key component of the core structure of the business is the investment in training local contractors and sub-contractors.
